Merry-Go-Round

Okay, so this is a poem I've always hated. My English teacher in 11th grade made us submit poems to a competition. I did four. Two in the style that I prefer, and two in the way I was told to. This is the latter. I don't write rhyming poetry. So this was done with complete sarcasm.

...and the stupid thing -won-.

Merry-Go-Round

Round and round
All day and night
Many children's
Heart's delight.

Hear the music
As it plays
Of happiness
And sunny days.

All the horses
Filled with pride
In giving children
All a ride.

Each horse of age
Is in its prime
Frozen in
Their best of time.

For all eternity
Life's not found
A greater joy
Than the Merry-Go-Round.
